Silent Hill 8 - Silent Hill: Downpour Coming 2011

 Updated: 7th January.2011

 ...

The "Silent Hill 8" which we had a chance to see announced on "E3 2010" is now named "Silent Hill: Downpour". Let's hope This one wont go that much down as the latest few, if you know what I mean... So far the game looks dark and seems to be a promising horror survival worth wearing the name "Silent Hill". We will see if that's the case, soon...

AWESOME    NEWS    PEOPLE!

Akira Yamaoka, musician, composer and producer of Konami's Silent Hill series left Konami and joined Grasshopper Manufacture, alongside freelance Japanese game designer Kazutoshi Iida, creator of titles like NoMoreHeroes and Killer7. Suda 51, the acclaimed developer behind these games has always been an admirer of Akira and now he will be working along side him for their next game which is to be a horror title. (I guess the rumored Kurayami will be the title that they are working on...not sure - TBA)

Yamaoka will concentrate on composing music for Grasshopper's games. He stated that he'd like to use his "total sum of experience" to create games in the future. His first project: the game that Suda and former Capcom's RESIDENT EVIL game creator/designer Shinji Mikami are working on for Electronic Arts, the details of which still remain to be announced.

All I Can Say For Now Is: "Kazutoshi Iida, Akira Yamaoka, Shinji Mikami... WOW! What A Team! (+With EA's Fund!) That's Gonna Be A Top Selling Title!" ...

Oh and one more thing! Silent Hill music and sounds by Akira Yamaoka?? Forget about it, that's not gonna happen!

Silent Hill Is Not What It Was...

         AKIRA YAMAOKA LEAVING KONAMI

(CONFIRMED)

                                         posted: Jan2010

The well known composer Akira Yamaoka is leaving Konami. The reason is unknown but soon OSV is preparing an interview with Yamaoka, maybe we will know more then. After 16 years Akira leaves the Silent Hill series, it's a shame. He was also a producer in the series not just a composer and sound director.

I can say with sadness Silent Hill series died to me. (I said that in 2006 but now it's confirmed)

I just hope that one day the old KCET (Konami_Computer_Entertainment_Tokyo) crew get together once again and make a new Silent Hill game.

                   (1968-02-06)(Born February 6, 1968 - age 41)

(Joined KONAMI on September 21, 1993)

                        (Left Konami December 2009)

Before working as a video game composer, Yamaoka initially sought a career as a designer, but instead became a musician after studying product design at Tokyo Art College.

In 1993 he joined Konami to work on the game "Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2" which was released on Sega Genesis and SegaMegaDrive in 1994...
When Konami began searching for a musician to compose Silent Hill's score, Yamaoka volunteered because he thought he was the only one capable of making the soundtrack.

His own first original album, "iFUTURELIST" was released in January 2006.
